2006年6月14日起，美国WJT enterprise Inc.首席执行官（CEO），催化化学专家陶国樑博士来我院进行了为期一个半月的学术访问。 在访问期间，陶国樑博士就“如何提高学生英文科技论文写作技巧”为我院师生开设了48学时的专题系列课程。在整个讲学的过程中，陶国樑教授主要从英文科技论文的字，词，句，段，篇，章，标点等方面作了详细、生动的讲解，并比较了普通英文写作和科技英文写作在用词遣字上的区别。通过对原始文献的剖析，陶国樑博士还专门针对化学类英文文章的写作做了详尽的诠释，着重强调了化学英文论文的主要要素（标题、摘要、引言、实验、结果、讨论、结论）的写作技巧。陶国樑博士还为我校师生作了“化学工业的研究和发展”的专题讲座，和我院师生对实验室研究结果工业化有关问题进行了讨论和交流。陶国粱博士严谨治学的态度，对于化学学科发展的独到见解，关于英文科技论文写作的精彩授课，无私奉献的精神给我院师生留下了深刻的印象。陶国樑博士简历:SUMMARYAs a senior chemist with 21years of industrial R&D experience, KWOLIANG DAVID TAU has expertise in discovery of new catalysts, improvement of known catalysts, and commercialization of chemical processes. Being deeply involved in lab work, Mr. Tau has hands-on experience in projects related to industrial organic chemistry, homogeneous/heterogeneous catalysis, organomentallic chemistry, and asymmetric syntheses. Furthermore, by working with marketing people and engineers to champion projects, he gains working knowledge on technology evaluation, collection of market information, and coordination of process feasibility studies.SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS[face=Wingdings]l [/FONT]Developed an improved process for the synthesis of a Shell’s proprietary phosphine ligand. A patent application has been filed.[face=Wingdings]l [/FONT]Installed a versatile heterogeneous catalyst-testing unit. The unit was operated successfully to identify that a Shell’s catalyst is more efficient and cost-effective than the commercial one. The result was further confirmed in a plant trial.
